Burial

dir. by Jerzy Czachowski, Poland
runtime: 15 min
Poland today - after the publication of the near total abortion ban regulations. A man and a woman bury a chest on the random field. Meanwhile, the owner of the plot calls the police. The couple is being accused of commiting a crime. As it turns out the chest hides a different secret than the police and the plot's owner suspected. Will the painful confrontation with the emotions and the loss, in addition to the life-changing news be the end or the beginning of a new relationship between the couple?

Directors Statement

"Burial" means a lot to me because I want to tell about the topic which really concerns me. Film's plot is settled in my country, Poland, which nowadays, after the promulgation of the ban on abortion - is full of loud and extreme discussion. The plot is about two people who are suspected of committing a crime. What they do is just caring about what is most important to them.
On one hand, I want to talk about the problem of abortion and how it is perceived in today's Poland. On the other, I want to highlight the fact that people want to share their love to animals, but often they do the opposite to people who are important to them. Film’s final scene brings us inside the mystery of those issues.
