Maria Nymfiadi
She was born in Athens. Studied sculpture in Athens School of Fine Arts (1994-2000), photography in Hogeschool voor de Künsten in Utrecht Holland (1998) and received a Ma Fine Arts in Central Saint Martins London (2002-2003).
She has participated in exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
Her work includes site-specific installations, participatory projects, photography, video and performances. She is interested in the various procedures of creating an artwork, repetitive procedures for the recognition and documentation of specific sites, events and relations between people.
Selected collaborations/projects: 2012 with the artist Lea Petrou formed the group MouSou working on participatory projects such as My Athens 2009 love [in] a different kefte collaboration with Lea Petrou, part of the project ‘love difference pastries’ organized by Love Difference, Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto, was presented in Athens, Italy, France and U.S.A. 2006 collaboration with the poet Alexandra Plastira , a little company part of the project Blind Date #12.
